CYTOBALANCE is a fluorescence immunoassay completely automatized, allowing the testing of multiple cytokines samples simultaneously. The sample size is strongly reduced (25 μl) compared to the flow cytometry or to the Elisa technologies, and there is no need for manual steps, thus reducing the risk of poor reproducibility. Automatic control systems and triple measurement-based quantification further increase the analysis reproducibility. A microfluidic system eliminates cross-reactivity by detecting each analyte in separate parallel channels. Our test includes IFN-γ, lL-2, -4, -6, -10, -12, -17A, TNF-α, and CRP. Maintaining inflammatory mediator levels (IMLs) below inflammation-associated thresholds is expected to improve genetic stability, reducing colorectal and other solid cancer risks. If at least one of the levels exceeds the attention threshold, lifestyle strategies (including food supplementation) are suggested to reduce IMLs.
